Interview with Giuseppe

Lucas: Hello Giuseppe! Thank you for taking the time to talk with me today. For starters, could you introduce yourself and tell us where you’re from?

Giuseppe: Hello! My name is Giuseppe, I’m 24 years old, I’m a political science student and I come from Bologna, Italy.

Lucas: Great! So, you told me that you knew the Île-de-France region well, what made you visit this region?

Giuseppe: I have always been fascinated by Paris and its surroundings. It is a region so rich in history, culture and art. I had been looking forward to seeing the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles...

Lucas: And what were your first impressions when you arrived in Paris?

Giuseppe: Paris didn’t disappoint me. The architecture is beautiful, every street seems to have a story to tell. I found the people welcoming, and there is a unique atmosphere with old and modern.

Lucas: Did you visit other places in the Île-de-France outside of Paris?

Giuseppe: Yes, I had the chance to visit several places. The Palace of Versailles, for example, was incredible. The gardens are huge and really well maintained. I also visited Fontainebleau, which is less known but equally impressive. And I also went to Disneyland Paris.

Lucas: Great. What was your favorite part of the trip?

Giuseppe: It’s hard to say... But if I had to choose a single moment, it would probably be the moment that I spent at the top of the Eiffel Tower. I found the view of Paris magnificent.

Lucas: I see. Was there anything that surprised you or didn’t expect to find in the area?

Giuseppe: Yes, I didn’t expect the area to be so green. There are lots of parks and green spaces, which is very nice. The cultural diversity is also quite impressive, you can meet people from all over the world!

Lucas: Have you tried some typical dishes of the region? If so, which ones did you prefer?

Giuseppe: I tried many pastries! I really liked the croissants and macarons. I ate several times croque-monsieur between my visits, it was super good!

Lucas: Do you have any advice for other young Italians who would like to visit the Île-de-France?

Giuseppe: Yes, I would tell them to take the time to visit Paris but also the surrounding area. And also, to learn some basic French words. I had the impression that it was pleasing to the French when I tried.

Lucas: Thank you very much Giuseppe for this moment!

Giuseppe: You’re welcome!
